it just happened...

When passing thru St. Louis, MO last week I paid $1.89 for diesel. (10 cents less than regular gas.) The low test regular was $1.99. Probably won't last long, there may have been an over supply of winter fuel. We can only hope.

I've been paying almost 10 cents a liter less then gas for quite some time now, 76 cents a liter while regular is 84 or 85 cents a liter.

Its less than half of where it was last summer, so I don't have any complaints.

Gouging was an understatement.....

When diesel is $5.00 a gallon and it costs me $220 to fill up, that's just ridiculous. Local price right now is $1.98, a welcome change from $5.00 a gallon.

I hear that! It's a lot nicer to spend $75 to fill the tank instead of the $175 it cost me last summer (the wife was flirting with the idea of me selling the rig for something more economical , although I knew that was not an option ).

I know prices will go up for the summer. I just hope it stays somewhat reasonable this year, especially with the economy. I would assume so since a lot of people will not be able to afford those prices this summer.
