I am slowly doing the mods to my Ex. I just but in the cross over line this past weekend. After all the reviews and screaming of the DPtuner I am wanting to get one. I have a few questions when I hear people talk about reprograming them.
1. Is it better to do all the mods first then buy the tuner?
2. I still need to do the valve body mod. Do this before or after the DP install?
3. In regards to the feul return line. Do this before or affter the DP install.
I have heard that Jody is great to work with and is more than willing to help out with all the concerns. I just dont want to have to install the chip with tunes and then after doing other mods send it back to get reflashed or whatever Jody does to it.
I am having a hard time with the search option tonight. Dont know if its me or the website, but I am traveling to Alabama the third weekend in may and wondering if there is anything going on.
gauges, exhaust and and air intake are the most important mods..the rest are just extras.just make sure you tell Jody (DP tuner) what you have so he program on the stock Trans..
Al, give me a call or PM when you have time and we a go over what you need for a DP Tuner. Just like Ron said above though, that is a good way to start.
A retune isn't necessary for every single mod. In fact, for some mods, a retune depends on where you get it.
For example, a John Wood VB doesn't need a retune, but the last I heard, getting one from BTS does.
Your best bet is to call Jody and tell him what you have and what you plan on getting in the future and he can let you know what mods you should do first.
Or you can just get the F6 chip and not have to worry about retunes at all!

Very true Stewart, and I offer a no down-time reburn program so you don't have to drive the stock slug while waiting for you tunes
If you get the Phoenix FU Chip Thats (Free Upgrades) it includes the access to all Bills standard tunes, about 18 i think plus u get the burner and can download custom these or custom tunes anytime and for the mods you mentioned there is no additional charges.... its not a try and buy deal like DP it's 100% full access to all the tunes so you can pick the ones you like best as well as rearrange the positon of the tunes on the chip
