Just getting ready to put the rear in and im not sure on my pinion angle . the end of the tranny is angled down about 3 degrees measured by angle finder against rear seal .should the pinion be up three degrees i have heard some many different ways from friends some say point it up the same as the tranny is down and some say point it down due to the rear pinion trying to point up under power . please help im getting a headache.
are you running leaf springs, 4 link, ladder bars, etc....? with leafs it should run parallel with your drive shaft, with a slite tilt down, to compensate for power transfer. but with most 3 and 4 links, and ladder bars, i've always ran it straight parallel with the drive shaft, i've also always ran air ride on most of my trucks also, which will make a difference.
i've never been one for massive horse power so i've never had to worry about alot of power and torque going to the back wheels, if your planning on having alot of ponies under your hood, i'm not the one to answer
but thats just my way of doing it, just make sure nothing is in any kind of bind and you should be good to go.
