Running boards,side steps
Just curious what everyone has here. I have the black plastic type that came with the truck when I bought it. I was looking at maybe getting the chrome tube type. Tell me what you have an how do you like them.? Thanks for the input.

I had the tube style on my '99' and the bottom of the doors on the inside seam lip rusted pretty bad. I believe from the road salt able to splash in that area.
On my '05' I had the style you have right now on and do not have the same problem, I think because it blocks the splash from coming up. if you live where there is salt on the roads.
I did put the same ones on my '08' now. I personally like them better from my experience.

I have the black plastic on my 05 with the Ford molded mud flaps in front of them and most road grime stays off of them and keeps the door bottoms clean. I live in a snow area so we have salt and sand on the roads they keep the body cleaner.

I have the original full boards that came on my 99 in the garage and would like to trade them for black or chrome tubes. If anyone reading this is interested. Preferably black ones to match the brushguard i just installed.

I have the OE aluminum tube steps on my 04'. Only thing I don't like about them is they are too low. Think I'm going to raise them up more.
My dad had the OE plastic running boards on his 03' until I busted one of them. I bought him a set of OE 08' plastic boards and put them on. Downside the the plastics is they will bend some over time and the plastic can fatige and break.
