I'm afraid......

I just told my wife I'm afraid that I'm going to end up being someone who's got 5 80-86 f-series trucks in the driveway, all working, all on the road. I mean, I don't think it's so bad, but I don't think she feels the same way I do. who here's got more than 2?

Haha, I know what you mean. As of now, I have just the three in my sig. All run and I try to keep them on the road as often as possible. People often tell me I have my own fleet. I don't even want to mention the other vehicles. Let's just say, I'm not tied to just Ford vehicles. It's an addiction.

Don't feel too bad, whenever my dad and I talk about anything, he brings up the fact that I should try to "get rid" of my extra truck....

Considering all the money I've put into it, its not happening...

If one won't start, get in the other one...

[AA Meeting] Welcome Xjpilot. Thank you for sharing with the group. We all have a problem with addiction and that's why we are here.... [/AA Meeting]

5 is a lot, but if I had more room in the driveway and it wouldn't tick off the neighbors more than they are I would probably have more too.

Right now I have to settle for 2 storage units and a basement full of enough spare parts to build another truck (or two) except for a frame.

Throw a lawn mower, a weed wacker, and a broom in each truck, make up a nice company logo that stands out and put some kids to work. You are the secret weapon to an economic upturn. Uh yeah, I only got one, landlord makes me get rid of the broken ones.

Hmm, at last count, it's 4 F-Trucks and a pair of Cummins trucks, 3 of which are on the road... All for one single guy... LOL

Im down to exactly 2 and one is for sale.

at the height of my ford truck disease I had at one time:

the 90 I am driving
the 90 I was replacing with the previous 90
another 90 from cali that was just hot hot hot (wanted to make a race truck from this but someone came buy and offered me $1000 more in cash than what I had paid for it, at a time when $1000 more in cash than what I paid was an attractive alternative)
my 81 I am driving
an 89 I was scrapping

add in the 88 K2500 I restored and the 91 Blahzer....I had a lot of gas burning, environment killing, puppy squishing hardware weighing down my property.

You guys sound like me...

I have owned 27 cars over the past 10 years, at the height of it I had 4 Mustangs, a Taurus SHO and a Ranger, at the same time my dad had an 86 F350 and his Econoline work van in the driveway. Luckily my mom's Camry got to hide out in the garage.

Hi, my name is Jeff, and I'm an addict.

Like you, my wife has made comments like:

Ok that's enough!

Your not gonna buy and own every truck Ford built.

What do you think your going to do with that one.

You'll never sell it, you always get attached to them.

If you go buy the property, you can do whatever you want.

Although, I don't own 5 trucks I do own three, 1981 F350 XLT 6.6 dually, 1985 F150 4.9 Flareside, 1986 F250 7.0 ext cab Lariat.

Plus we have a 1979 Mustang, 2004 Mustang GT, 1992 Mazda/Ford Navajo/Explorer (Rock Crawler) and a 1988 19' Wellcraft ski boat.

Now since she too is a gear head and likes to play with cars too, it's not so bad, BUT it all has to be within reason so-to-speak.

Like really? what am I gonna do with 3 trucks?

It is nice, like it was said earlier, that if one breaks, you just hop in the other one which is true, their all paid for, and in their own rights they all will work their *** off for the duties set forth.

So where's the problem?

Well you always seem to find another 7th gen F-Truck you want like this one at the swap meet yesterday:

Wow, that one is clean.

I don't quite know what it is but 7th gen Flaresides are my favorite.

Yeah is was nice, it had a few things that didn't set to well with me, like the euro lights below the side markers in the front, the grab handles on the cab, a steel floor covered in bedliner, a latemodel bumper on the rear, and two gauges on either side of the dash panel, other than that it was a really nice clean example.

And true, there are not a lot of Flareside to be found anymore that aren't wore out or badly taken care of, this swap last year had one that was an '83 XLT Flareside that had a decent scuff and squirt paint job and plywood floor in the bed, and latemodel wheels, and sold for $6500, it had 140k on the clock.

I too have been chased down and given the thumbs up and "I love your truck", and also been offered as much as $5500 for it, but for some sick reason I can't seem to get up off my truck, I just love it way too much, my wife even said if I get rid of all my 7th gen's I cold have a new Raptor, believe it or not, I said nah that's ok, cause I just love my '85 Flareside way too much:
