H22 Axle code

H22 Axle code
On a 1980 ford f150 4x4 the axle code is a H22 does anyone what gear ratio that is. There is no tag on the rear cover and the axle is broke so I can't spin the tire to see how many times the driveshaft spins

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 03-Nov-02 AT 04:45 PM (EST)]I can't find a three digit axle code in any of my literature. It could be a mistype on the door jamb. I can find a 1980 code H2 as a 3.50 Ford 9". I show code 22 only in an 8.8" rear '83 and newer and a 4.10 ratio. You should have the 9", so most likely you'll have the 3.50 rear.
Another possiblity is to lock and rotate the front. This will give you a ball park number since the rear has to be pretty close to the same ratio.
