Looks good, did the same stuff I did except I used a stealth intake. Not sure if I am goin to paint it though. I'm kind of lazy and dont really want to clean the motor.

yah...I tried cleaning it, but the motor was so gunked up I figured I'd leave it for the machine shop. I figured fixing up an old truck was a hell of a lot cheaper than buying a new 3/4 ton and I just don't like the new ones anyway.
looks good. gives me ideas.hmmm
like what?
I love the stainless 12 pt fasteners - I got them too. What are the specs for the truck its going into?
1984 F-250, Dana 70 rear, A/C, 2 wheel drive, ummm...what else do you wanna know? I like the fasteners too...I figured wth.
You also installed the adjustable or at least pre 1970 style timing chain right?
Yes sir. It was an engine pro set up. I read on here about the earlier set up and talked to the guy at the machine shop. I thought it was +8/-8 and he thought +4/-4. Not sure which one though.
Looks good, painted mine yellow with black pan and valve covers.
Nice! I was worried I was going to get banned for painting mine C%*&Y orange...or at the very least it would start a small revolt. If it makes anyone feel any better...I have two inline six 292's that I'm going to paint CAT yellow
i,ve have to freshen up my 460.i like the orange.will show off the chrome and aluminum and stainless fasteners.plus i agree on that cheaper to fix than to buy a new one.
Seeing your motor has prompted me to get off my but and clean mine up. Still not sure if I'll paint the intake and valve covers separately though. I may just put everything on and hose it with some ford blue.

Old cat yellow or new cat golden yellow..? both sound like a good choice. thought mine would really stand out.. but so much crap on top, of motor ( ac. lines, rad. hoses, air intake snorkel plug and vacum lines. ) it is almost hidden away... but it looked great on the engine stand.lol

Good! I'll probably replace the valve covers later on. I was trying to save money where I could and figured I could change it easy enough later on.

I'm not sure on which yellow...the old or the new. A customer of mine works for a local CAT dealer and is going to hook me up with 12 aerosol cans. I'm going to start cleaning up the engine bay to prep it for the install of the 460 towards the end of may.
