I have a '84 Bronco that seems to have had a 9" rear conversion done to it. Is there any numbers on it that would tell what this rear end originally came from and how to tell the ratio when the original I.D. tag is missing. I have been cautious not to engage the 4 wheel drive yet because I don't know for sure the ratio's match.
Any help identifing the tranny would be appretiated also. It has the C6 i'm assuming but the oil pan shape is unlike the older ones I know a bit better.
I've owned it just a couple months now and never have been around one before although I've always wanted one.
the 9" was standard in that year bronco and could be found in some till 85/86. it would have a 3.50 gear ratio also so check the front D44 tag to see what it has.
I ran an 88 bronco with a 9 out back running 3.50 gears, the front still had the 3.54 gears and it worked fine. anything more then that difference would have issues.
