Another "PLUG" question
I know this has been asked before (probably many) but my search didn't yied effective results based on the 05-07 spark plug replacement.
As i am aware of the problematic issues with the earlier 5.4L plug removal issues and have heard minimal responses regarding problems with the 05-07 5.4l.
I am getting ready to do mine and wanted to get ideas on dealer prices as i already knew they were pricy so i asked around to the local dealers. out of the 3 dealers i contacted i got the following prices:
Dealer #1 -$425 (3 hrs labor)
Dealer #2 -$334 (didn't specify)
Dealer #3- $506 (3 hrs labor)
Plugs list at dealer at $18.19
Ford parts direct- $7.96
ANYWAY
I plan to do these myself and wanted to get a consensus on how many of you had had breakage or problems removing and access. (05-07 5.4L ONLY)

Here's what I did, and every plug came out unbelievably easy. I ran marvel Mystry oil in every tank for a month prior to changing my plugs. All I had to do was break them loose with a ratchet and hand thread them out. The marvel Mystry oil has mint oil, which softens carbon. Someone did the same thing over on the F150 side, and had the same results as I did.
I used the Champions in my truck, to replace th Motorcrafts. I am not a big fan of Champions, but I have 7,000 on them and have had no problems so far. The Champion design is much better than the Motorcrafts. I also put the high temp Anti seize on also.

I think the change to the heads was in the fall of 2007, it says on the latest TSB.
