Just thought i would say hello, i've been coming to this site for a long time now and feel like i know most of you even though no one knows me, lol. but now i finally started an account so i can throw my 2 cents in, posted a few pics of my truck (hope i did it right)
one question, will a 48-50 wood bed kit fit in my 52? some modification is no big deal, but i dont see how it could be too different.
oh, one more thing, the cookies are totally worth going to the darkside for.
Welcome to FTE. Very nice looking truck. Too bad about the dental handicap. (just kidding) I would think that the wood bed for the '49-'52 should be about the same. I know that '49-early '50 came stock with a metal floor deck but it can be modified for the wood deck pretty easily. I am going to do that to my '50. Some one with more knowledge will chime in here shortly and give you more information. Glad to have you on board and looking forward to following your build.
I agree with gdgerlander about the small handicap on the front, lol. Good looking truck. My bed kit came with oak spacers to bring the bed heighth up in order to, I guess cover the holes were the metal bed was mounted. I would think you could leave spacers out and bolt boards directly to bed cross bracing.
Welcome mostly52f1,very nice project for sure and I might add that the change to the grille full of teeth looks much better. You did a real nice job of cleaning it up.
