best programmer

hey guys i have a 2000 f250 with the 5.4 looking for a little extra hp for towing and for just driving around. i know alot of people have different views. but just seeing what everyone thinks. also what tuner can be used for regular and perium fuel.

also does anyone know what stock rearend i have in the truck. and would lower gears help with mpg or hp at all.

Gears would definitely help with MPG...the lower the better. I think that most 250s came with 3.73 unless you ordered something different. If you got 3.53s or taller (lower number) then your MPGs would go up (although your towing performance would go down). If you still want to tow, the tuner is the way to go (along with an intake and exhaust). Also, make sure your tire pressures are good, drive like your grandma and put all synthetic fluids in it (engine, differentials, transmission, etc).
