Dual Steering Stabilizers ??? Different model years

I have a 99 F350 and I want a good quality steering stabilizer. I've come across a lot through google, but they all seem pretty generic. I searched on rize industries and I love their kit, but they are made for 05-06 Fords. Is there a difference? or would that kit fit my 99?

Or if anyone else has a place for a good quality steering stabilizer for a 99, that would be awesome!

Thank You!

I used a bilstien shock to replace my stock one and am pretty happy. the 05+ with the coil springs will probably have more throw because the tires can turn further than the 99-04 leaf spring axles. It might be useable, but you will probably have to do a little engineering to make it work correctly.

Check out skyjacker.com, they may have something, also Rancho makes some stuff as well.

Check out my pic of the skyjacker: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/a...pictureid=5415

Talking Ain't got one and don't miss it

My truck's steering stabilizer isn't there on accounta the previous owner
ran into something and cracked the attachment bracket.

I took off the stabilizer and welded the bracket, and didn't put it back on again, but was planning to.

Several months later I saw in the shop where I had stashed it,
and tried to recall having missed it.

I checked the tires to see if there was any obvious wear arising from
them not being "stabilized".

Am I missing something, as I can find no difference in the trucks operation
with or without it..??

thanks.

It is mostly used to help dampen the effects of steering especially off road or if you are running on dirt roads and oversized tires.

Helps to keep the steering wheel from being jerked out of your hands.

If you are just driving on road surfaces only then I can see why you would not need it.

All they do is reduce the oscillation in the steering wheel. If the steering wheel feels smooth, then you don't need one. Duals dissipate the heat across two shock bodies.

Senix, did you notice any difference after installing the dual stabilizers? I am assuming your 08 didnt have enough miles on it yet to wear out the factory stabilizer.

I put on two stabilizes, new bilsteins, tires, alignment, balance, and my death wobble went away and stayed away. I just came back from a 4 hour trip and it was like driving a Lexus it was so smooth and straight.
I was this close to dumping this thing now I love it.

Factory stabilizer was fine with the Conti craps, but when I put the coopers on it, it felt like I was on sponges. But I knew that was gonna happen before I did the move. So the duals were on order before hand.

I had the usual issue of the "death wobble" until yesterday when I had a Rancho dual stabilizer kit installed on my 250. Man oh man, what a difference. No more steering wheel getting jerked out of my hands going over bad pot holes.

What year is your truck?
I replaced my stock single and I still get the death shake in my 07 and it is real fun with the weight of my truck.

No, the Rize 05-09 setup will not fit a 99-04.

For a nice 99-04 setup (IMO) look at the Icon Vehicle Dynamics system.
