I was eating dinner(or lunch as some of y'all yanks may call it) at my favorite Mexican place and there happens to be a performance shop now shops down. I noticed a lifted excursion with Bullydog decals being put on it with an Outlook monitor also being hooked up.
I went over there to ask them if it was the 7.3 or 6.0, rather or not it was a tuner or in-line module and the like and none of the workers on the truck had a clue as to what I was talking about. They didn't even know what engine was under the hood. I could only hope that the customer brought in the tuner or module in for them to install and so they didn't have to do any research or selling of the device.
There are some people that put trust into a performance shop to get advice or help with a product and to not know what the engine is or what type of device they are hooking up is not good. Thankfully I don't have to trust other people on the simple things.
Maybe they were just putting on go fast stickers. I hear a NOS sticker adds 20+ hp.
HaHa, you should see the kids out here in Cali with the Honda Civics and a three foot tall spoiler on the back, NOS stickers and Japanese letters all over it.
Then they take off and it sounds like my riding lawn mower
But the stickers do work, my NRA sticker gets me an extra 100 HP and 100 dirty looks from Hippies and Libs
Shops around here push edge and bully dog like its the holy grail of diesel hp. When asked about the sct they have never heard of it and will tell you nothing is better than their product..... At least they don't sell banks stuff though
A performance shop that I deal with that sells lift kits/Bully chips/you name it for trucks had NO idea what an EGT sensor was.... that scared me. BUT they have been SOOO amazing with their customer service (even giving me free tools to install some of my things, and just trust that I bring the tools back, sometimes telling me to keep them even) that I will still shop there regardless.

I don't know if I could have done that. That would be like being a horse trainer and not know how to saddle a horse. There are just certain things that one has to know no matter what business you are in.
Hey Tex, I was checking out your gallery, NICE TRUCK! I love the interior of that King Ranch. Anyways, I was curious where you got these gauges https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...144212&width=0 (beside your overhead console) I couldnt tell how big your O/H console was, but mine is fairly large because of the sun-roof. Level of difficulty putting this in?
I've had a horrible experience myself, and it actually was at the Ford dealer parts store locally. I walked in, and I asked the guy, if they have an adapter for the fuel pressure check port a the upper fuel filter, so I could hook up my fuel pressure gauge. He looked up in the computer ( by year and everything ) , and I could see on hes face that he has no idea what he is looking for. Finally he turned the monitor a little towards to me, and pointed to the ICP sensor for me. " Is this it?" At least he asked, before he sold it to me. "No, it's at the fuel filter." - I answered. Searching, looking, and he pointed again - to the IPR. What the f***? - I tought. Forget to mention, that at the first time I was there - close to 3 years ago, the guy already was there - so he's not a rookie.
So I've had to help him out some, and WE looked for it, and finally I've got the answer - that " We don't have it" ...... Be careful even at the dealer. You'd think, that they know....

The Autometer Antique Beiges Gauges I got from Amazon that outsourced it from a vendor in New York(I can't remember the name).
As far as the install of the pod and gauges, it wasn't any harder then the A-pillar gauge pod.
