I finished using Herculiner roll on bed liner in my cab- the carpets were shot and stinky and the headliner was stained and sagging. Seat covers on the way and the interior should be good as new. There is a bit more road noise- although it's not bad. It also still has an odor of the Herculiner after about a week.
1. Removed everything but the belts, prepped with a wire cup brush and washed with acetone.
2. Two coats later and some of the interior stuff back in.
3. Finished- there are a couple more pics in my gallery.
That's pretty cool! I have Herculiner in the bed of my truck and on the door sills. Over the last 4 or 5 years the Herculiner in the bed has faded from the nice shiny black to a dull grey, but it still does it's job. Probably in the interior it should last a lot longer.
"Is there any problem with heat from the tranny &/or cat melting the liner rubber? I've heard both good and bad about that."
I would also question the road-engine-exhaust noise level with that set-up. But, I think that is so cool, functional and if we hear more about this, Lil' Raven will definetly get the treatment. No Doubt. I will have the mats also.
yup looks like mine had mine for a while now since december or so my only complaint is the fuel pump makes a little more noise but that's it, i don't have a cat so no heat problems
I do have some mats in there (no pictured), the texture of this stuff does hold the dirt, the advantage being you can hose it off. Noise isn't really too bad, but a bit more than with the carpet and mats. I haven't noted any problems with heat, but time will tell. I ran some errands in the truck today and it still has a pretty strong chemical smell, but I expect this will lessen with time.
