Hey guys, its been awhile. Anyways my truck is set to be completed all new paint and stuff by the end of may. I need to buy tires and the ones that were on it were 33's do u guys think i could get 35's under it and more importantly do you think they will look good? I would love to lift it about 2 more inches but I have no idea on how much it is lifted now?
just to double check on this because i have the same question. i have a 79 f150 and i want to know if 35"s will fit without rubbing through suspension travel. heres some pics from when i bought it...
and yea i know that the box needs some work... i'm gonna weld some bracing in it next week

well, if the 77 and 79 sit the same, you should have no problem w/the 35's rubbing the suspension. my 35's weren't scratched or nicked at all on the inside. the only reason i got rid of them was b/c one blew out and the tire was obsolete (they were bfg all-terrain t/a's, but now all they have are the t/a k/o's, which dont match the tread pattern as the originals). 35's might brush the fenders a little, but not too much. depends on how wide they are too
72_lemans, your 79 doesn't look like it sits at high as a highboy does, you may have issues with fitment. If you know someone with a 35" tire already mounted, you can test fit before you buy.
Alright. Thanks. Ill see if I can find someone that'll let me test fit one. I was thinking about putting a 2" lift if I have to to get them to fit. Eithr that or ill back down to 33"s

they will fit, no lift needed. fitment will be fine as long as u use 15x10 rims. my truck sat nose down and they had no problem fitting under it.

With all due respect, I guess those "fit" but if you hit a hole those tires are gonna eat those fenders up. You cant have more than 3" of suspension travel? And as to the 15x10 rims.. it doesnt matter the rim size, if it's a 35in tire, it's 35in regardless of rim diameter. Go with the 33's on your 150, it doesnt have the clearance to utilize a 35in. JMO
to the original poster, 35's work great. plenty of room to articulate and whatnot.
Personally i like the look (and performance) of about 4-6" of space between the tire and wheelwell regardless of lift or tire size, when you have too much tire stuffed into the wheelwell then tire will hit fender before bump stop hits springs, a stock highboy can easily clear 35's and still look good, sure you can stuff 37's under there but it's gonna get pretty tight, you can put 33's under most other dentside 4x4's without any problem but 35's are just stuffing the wheelwell too much without at least a 2" lift.
how much lift and what kind body or suspension is required to put 35X12.50r15s on a stepside 79 f150? cant find any info so any suggestions would be great!!!!!!!!!!!!
