390 Short Block?

390 Short Block?

I just took the time and money to replace the heads, clean up the intake and carb on my 76-F250 with a 360FE and C-6. I did this in hopes that the lower portion would be in good enough shape to keep. With that said, it is now apparent that my rings are shot and a few lobes on my cam seem to be worn down, very disheartening. I'm now looking into options on what do do. I'm on a college budget but love my vehicles. I live in the city now and its my only escape to my type of world. What do you guys think are some valid options? I have been looking, but ford short blocks seem to be a little more difficult to come by. If I did go that route, I would prefer a 390. Thanks

If you want to rebuild the engine yourself,you can use the block you've got now, you'll need to go through a pats house and get a 390 crank and rods someone on here mentioned that Oreillys carrys a 390 Crank kit that comes with Rod & Main Bearings you'd also need pistons but to reiterate you don't need another block the one you have now is the same exact block as a 390 or 410 all three use the 4.05" Cylinder bore
