I'm getting started on my efi swap and only need a return line. I have a jbg 23 gallon tank that has "evap" bungs on the driver side. I want to run a steel flex line to one of these bungs. Obviously I can't go buy an -4 an return line. I guess what I'm asking is what options do I have to use this type of line and connect to my tank? I'm using a stock 5.0 mustang fuel rail so I will need an ford type adapter on the engine side... Any ideas?
I cant remember how I did mine but i think I just got a stock ford fuel return line, cut the plastic hose off, and hose clamped a rubber 40 psi hose on. I then t-d into my stock fuel filler hose. Its been a few years. Not quite what you were looking for but I hope that helps.
On my swaps, I cut the hard line off about 6" behind the spring lock coupler at the engine. I use a 5/16" fuel hose to go from there over to the frame. On the frame I have a 5/16" hard line running back to just in front of the tank. And then another fuel hose to attach the hard line to the tank.
I actually have a fuel accumulator installed that T's into the return line before it returns to the tank. For most people, this isn't needed. But it helps to keep the engine running when the tank pickup is uncovered during extreme angles.
