Yes, there are several ways of accomplishing it. You can wire up a toggle switch, install an AIC, or buy a tuner with a high idle mode.
There is also a factory high idle that kicks in on the cold mornings.
I did mine with a potentiometer and resistor wired into the wires on the fuel pedal. I have seen alot of the AIC on ebay lately for about $100 bucks...If you can deal with ebay.

Makes sense, I just wasn't sure why the resistor was needed since a pot is basically a variable resistor itself.
I vote for AIC install myself, but I didn't pay any $100 for mine AIC install AIC e-brake bypass switch
When I did the mod a couple years ago it didn't work very well. It seemed the idle would vary drastically with differences in ambient air temperature. I have a feeling the temp differences were effecting the resistance of the resistor. I ended up taking it out after about a month...

Thanks for all the info everyone. Im going to have to see if its really that important to me. I know one of the guys at my firehouse has a new powerstroke and his has a wire that already stubbed out and just hooked it up to an uplifter switch. Thanks again, Jason
