I was wondering how in depth the Transgo VB is to install. Ive tried the search but come up with random posts. I dont want to have to take the trans out and was wondering how long the install takes. Pictures would help a bunch.
Also i went to there site but didnt see pricing is there another place that sells them such as riff raff or someone.
It's about 50 times easier than the instructions make it look. Dig around on Transgo's website and you'll see a video of how to do the install. It's even easier than it looks in Mike's thread here https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/7...l-article.html
The most important thing to understand is the tranny fluid never quits dripping after you drop the pan, so make sure you have some cardboard or something to catch the drips and plenty of rags around.
Basically, all you need to do is drain then drop the pan, unbolt the accumulator valve body, then pull a retainer and end plug and change the springs inside the hole. Replace it and move on to the next one. Then you can stick the accumulator VB back in and do the same thing with the main VB. Watching the video should make you feel a little better about doing this.
Transgo is the mfg. They don't sell direct to end users. Check out racerxautomotive.com They're a site sponsor and can offer any technical assistance you may need. He'll be able to sell you the Transgo kit.
That would be me. Do not, under any circumstances, get anything from Oregon Performance Transmissions. Absolutely zero help if there's a problem with anything you buy from them. Even if it's not their fault.
