Question about original 56 headlamp bulb?

Late last year I believe, there was a thread that had some discussion about what was supplied originally from the
factory regarding original headlamp bulbs and how to identify them. I have searched for the info but keep coming up empty handed.
I think I could possibly have an original headlamp on the 56 F600 I recently purchased, and would like to know for sure.
If anyone has info or recalls the thread I would appreciate it.

The original bulb in the center had a 12V on it, and across the bottom it said FoMoCo just like this with the big F and little o, big M little o, big C and little o. FoMoCo

The later replacements said fomoco in the center in cursive and then the later ones than that had the etched fomoco in the center.

What about in 56 did ford have the same kind of bulbs or what? I think I found a place that sells reproduction bulbs with the correct marking but theres no photo of them in the catalog.

Walford`s its amazing though, my 63 has four headlights and one of them is still the orignal T-3 bulb and it still burns (from my research T-3 marked bulbs stopped production around 1964 - 1965)

GM used a "Guide" brand T-3 headlamp until the late 60's early 70's.

Yep its a upside down triangle with a T-3 in the middle of the bulb and says Guide at the bottom of the bulb near the edge. Only thing is you can get reproductins so people dont belive me thats the orignal one. Cars been parked in the garage since the 80`s when I got it and I havent replaced the bulbs yet.

Only problem is I dont know what the bulbs said on the 56 ford`s. Would like to get reproduction ones if their correct.

I checked the bulb and it is marked as Bigwin56F100 said. So I assume it should be original. It works and is in good condition. Just cool to know.

Yep it is, I am glad I relooked over this topic cause I could swear you were asking about a 1953 F100 headlight bulb. Feel like an idiot asking "what about the 56 bulbs".

But it is good to know. I have a decal on my glovebox of my 56 that looks nothing like the reprodution one that is offered. So its nice to find stuff like that Might send a photo to some restoration companies and see if they can correct that.

I was paying $100 each for working originals. I now have enough of them for all my projects. The last pair I saw on ebay went for $350.00, see these are the same for the 56 and 57 t birds and ford cars.

dang I came across a company that sells reproduction bulbs but there was no photo to see if they are exactly like the orignal but if they are you could have saved alot of money unless you prefer orignal over reproduction with the orignal look.

I just bought new 6 volt bulbs for my 53....lot less than 350.00.......and they are the same as far as I am concerned.
Repros over originals in this case doesn't matter.....they are just headlights....not fenders....LOL......Bill
