Hey guys i was looking to put a train horn on my truck.Anyone have a train horn on their truck? If so where did you mount the horns and the tank and which one would you recommend buying. Thanks for any input in advance.
Do a search in the super duty forum and you will probably yield a lot more results. Most mount them either on the frame rails or where the spare tire was once it has been removed.

my horns are mounted to the crossmember under the back seat area, drivers side, with tank and compressor mounted on the outside frame under bed on passenger side. got my system off ebay, the loudhornguy i think
How much is a complete kit and how hard are they to install? I live in Upstate NY and I want something that can stand the hard winters and salt. Any recommendations???
It looks like you can get a really nice set for $500. Can you get in trouble for blasting the horn legally? I am sure you can scare the daylights out of someone....
I have train horn, it's the Kong MKII. I love it. I mounted the horns and solenoid on the pass side under the bed on the frame, and I have the tank and compressor in my toolbox. I bought it from Ebay brand new for like $400. Make sure you get the compressor separate from tank system. The Viair compressors are the best IMO for horns.

I can tow more than some big rigs that have them so I don't see how they could punish you having them. Now if you are driving through a shopping center blasting them like the kids on youtube that is a different story.

What do you do with all those pallets on your trailer??
