OK, I used to have a 2004 F250 diesel and had read several times that there was a mod you could to that would let you go into 2WD LOW. I was wandering if anyone had done this with an F150. I'm assuming your just keeping the hubs from locking in when you select 4WD LOW.
it would be really easy to fab up...problem is the PCM might be smart enough to figure out what you did.
basically just need a hot wire & switch that runs to the IWE Vacuum solenoid wire.
when you switch to 4x4, the IWE Vacuum Solenoid gets de-energized and breaks the vacuum at the IWE's
so if you ran a hot wire and seperately energized that solenoid...vacuum should be re-applied to the IWE's and then you would be in 4x2 LOW...with a spinning front driveshaft
I'm curious as to whether the PCM has a sensor that determines if the IWE is engaged/disengaged...or if that IWE Vacuum Solenoid is on/off
