Is it pretty straight forward to remove the bed from an F-2? Also, anyone know where to get replacement stake pockets and fenders???
These F-2's definately not as plentiful for parts selection as the F-1
Thanks ya'll!
Bill
Your only hope for finding fenders and box parts is find a decent used one. No one I know makes them new. The best you can do for new rear fenders is a set of F-1 fiberglass fenders that you will have to make the wheel openings larger and narrowing the over width of the fenders. The pockets are greatly different for the F-2/F-3 than the F-1s.
I'm not sure but I know there have been a couple of member who bought the F-1 pockets thinking they could modify them to the larger boxes and found they couldn't. I think the F-1 pockets are too narrow and short. The larger boxes also have a middle pocket which the smaller boxes don't have.
This diagram has a drawing of a mid '50 and up box, the one with the flat sides so it doesn't show the rounded pockets and the raised sides of the pre mid '50 box.
