Looking for some advice on repro mirrors. I had two from LMC but both of them lost their glass while shutting the doors. Anyone have a good source? I know that Dennis Carpenter, BOTP, and Bronco Graveyard all sell them, but im wondering what the quality is. I dont want to shell out another 100 bucks or so just to have the same result. and if anyone is wondering what model im looking for here are some P/Ns
Thanks for posting your repo experience. This is a good point we should all bring up whether it is good or bad when we deal with a vendor's products. I know I only want to buy a piece one time, and not get a piece of crap, to only buy from another vendor who is selling the same thing.
My 77 has two different mirrors, no one else notices, but I do. I never gave a thought to the mirror falling out, who would? Thanks, and good luck, and please let us know which vendor you went with, and how the quality is!
there is a link to the style of mirror, granted i got mine from LMC, but same thing. As for how old.....id say the first one fell off 6-7 months after i bought them, and the second one fell off after about 12 months. i was just curious id anyone had ordered from another company and had better luck.
This is the standard equipment outside mirror: 1967/79 F100/350's & 1967 Galaxie/LTD's.
One of these mirrors came with ALL 1967/79's but were not factory installed.
The Feds mandated all 1967 and later F100/350's had to have a left hand outside mirror, so Ford used the 1967 Galaxie/LTD mirror.
These were not factory installed because if the customer wanted something else (most did), the holes in the door would have to be filled in, and the door repainted.
I have and love the ones that are square with no black molding around the glass. Just bought a MINT set on ebay for 50 bucks. Unless they are square with the glass that goes all the way out to the edge with no moulding, I don't want em!
