04 with some idling/surging issues. Help please!
Hey guys, I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with one of the wreckers at work, it's an 04 F-550 ZF6 6.0. When you start it up cold it stumbles and falls on it's face, the idle will be really choppy for a few and then it will smooth out for a little while and then goes back to being choppy and rough. It has a fairly strong haze of blue smoke coming from the pipe. We had to replace the EGR valve about 2 months ago because it was stuck and full of carbon. Oh ya, the truck has a hypertech 3 bank tuner that has been kept on stock since we had to do the egr valve becuase the boss blamed it for the carbon, it also has a fipk k&n intake and a banks 4" exhaust. Oh and one more thing, even after letting it warm up for 10-15 minutes, once you start driving if you don't get the shifts perfect and keep the rpms up the truck limps along and has no ***** plus it shakes and shudders, I guess you could call it a surging throttle.
