Iac valve

Will a bad iac valve cause a high idle after start up on hot engine.At start up it runs at 2000 rpm then creeps down to 1000 rpms and holds. 2001 f250 v10

Usually a bad IAC manifests itself opposite of your symptoms.

Yes, it can. Do this test. Unplug the IAC electrical connector with the engine running at idle. The engine should stall. If is doesn't the IAC is sticking. Check for vacuum leaks otherwise.
