Working bugs out of my f100.
Speedo is 10 mph slow (60=50)
Bad vibration from 62 to 70 mph.
Swapped drive shafts with new u joints, problems still there.
302, c4, short bed with one piece drive shaft.
Any Ideas helpful.
Have you balanced all four tires and wheels? If not, look for bent wheels when you have it done. Also, you may have a bearing problem too. I had the same problem on my 67 mustang, just about the same speed. I had the tranny rebuilt this past year, now the vibrations is gone. Just my two cents worth
It depends on where you feel the vibration. If it is your seat, check the rear wheel bearing, if the steering wheel is vibrating, then it check the front.
when you serviced the driveshaft did you remember to put it back the same way it was? this can affect balancing if you do not mark it with chalk and if you installed it 90 degrees off in relation to the yolk for example. er um, the problem was happening before you even touched the driveshaft? nevermind
Found most of the vibration was 2 out of balance tires.
Going to go back over the motor and trans mounts and everything else.
Got it from a guy that let a chevy driver install the motor and trans.
He pitched the 80,000 aod in the dumpster because he didn't know how to hook up the 3 wires coming out of it and put in a points distributer but forgot to tighten all transmission bolts.
Found that the hard way by loosing the starter on the interstate in Atlanta.
