HELP please

we are ready to bolt a 302 into boys 1st truck , 73 F100 2 wheel drive , we have the small block c6 and everything we need except the 302 perches for the frame ...can anyone help us.I have called every Jyard w/in 100 miles and no go.can't find any new ones and searched internet for used...nothing but I know there have to be lots out there. I have 390 perches I can trade , cash and I even have a good C6 that was on the 390 that shifted great and no leaks , if you are close enough to bring me the 302 perches and motor mounts I will make it worth your while and you can have the C6 and the 390 perches...how is that for a deal ..Clarksville Tn

Sounds like a great deal....I may be coming up that way sometime in the next few months, but I am sure you would like mounts before then!! My grandfather and my dad was from Ashland City and we like to come up and visit ever so often. Matter of fact my grandfather gave me my '73 and I had to trailer it too lower Alabama from Ashland City. I am sure someone will chime in that can help.

If i remember correctly, your 390 perches will work. The straight six perches are different for the v-8 swap. The 390 perches can be moved forward or back. There is onother set of holes in the frame to do this. The motor mounts for the 302 is different than the mounts for the 390. You should have everything you need.

according to everything I have read , the ones I need are 1" shorter and have bigger mounting surface where they attach to motor mount

Welcome to FTE

The 302 perches used in 1969/79 F100's and 1975/79 F150's...are the exact same perches used in 1977/79 F100/350 2WD's with 351M's and 400's.

All these perches are obsolete.

D7TZ6028B .. Right 351M/400 perch replaced: DOTZ6028A 302 perch.

DENNISON FORD in Bloomington IL has ONE = 800-322-9431.

No other Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
-----------------------------------------------------
D7TZ6029B .. Left 351M/400 perch replaced: DOTZ6029A 302 perch.

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any.
------------------------------------------------
Scrounging in junkyards:

351M/400's have 8 valve cover bolts per side.

The engine code is the 4th digit of the VIN.

1977/79 F100/350: H = 351M // S = 400.

1980/82 302 or 351M/400 perches are NOT the same.

try calling around with the info that ND posted,,if you dont have any trucks within 100 miles of you that had a 351M or 400 from 1977-79 you would have to be on mars.
