E4OD converter lock
Here's the Q- I have a '93 F150 5.8L w/ E4OD. When it shifts to third, 90% of the time the converter locks right then at the shift. The prob is that the rpms drop way out of the power groove when pulling a load. Then again, the other 10% of the time it shifts to third, builds a few hundred rpms, locks up for a few hundred, then shifts to OD. Kind of like a five speed. What in the world is it supposed to do. It sure pulls better when it doesn't lock up right when it shifts to third. The tranny has 70k on it.
