I need help please

I have a 1992 F150 4.9L I6-300(vin Y) the engine is gone. I'm going to replace the engine in it but i don't know which engine i need out of the 4 type they have at EverDrive.com.
The 4 type are:
6-300 air in head w/E4OD
6-300 air in head w/o E4OD
6-300 air in manifold w/E4OD
6-300 air in manifold w/o E4OD
How do you tell which one you have? Please Please help.
I ask ford but they don't go back after 10 years.

They want a grand for a used engine...you can probably find an engine for less than half of that , craigs list is a good resource , buy one you can hear run , send the rest of it to the scrap pile and get some other parts to boot.

can you snap a couple pictures of the engine? then id be able to tell for sure. as far as the with or without e40d option thats just the flywheel or flexplate difference. the only important difference is the air piping which will be steel (always rusts out on these trucks) will either be in the head or in the exhaust manifold. most ive seen were in the head like my 94 but you can check it out yourself or snap some pics of the passenger side of the engine and i could tell ya. a grand for a used engine aint the greatest deal but itll work if your willing to pay that much for it. usually you can find a decent used one for 500$

If you still have the block it is easy to trace where the air pump is pumping the air to. follow the lines out of the pump, one should go to the fender but then off to more lines going further down. Follow until you either stop at the block or stop at the exhaust manifold. Air in head would be the line that stops at the block, air in the manifold will end in in the exhaust manifold not in the head itself something like 6 individual lines to the manifold.

As a note, you should have one more line going to the fender, and yet another going down to just before the catylitic converter or at the cat.
