power window problem

power window problem
Sorry to ask but I've been searching for about an hour and can't find the info. Have an 01 with the drivers window that won't come up. I know there was some info on some simple steps to take before tearing into the door. Any help is appreciated.

In search mode type in "power window fix". Use quotation marks. Many different solutions came up. Good luck. Silicone spray in the channels is a great help in maintaining the windows and easing the stress on the motors, IMO. Good Luck

Its most likely your switch on the door. Its a very easy fix and doesn't require you to tear the door apart. Just lift up on the plastic surrounding the switch and there are two or three screws holding the switch down. Replace with a new switch. They are about $60 at Ford.

Hold the switch and bang on the door a couple of times. I have the same problem with mine from time to time. Sometimes it wont go down and I have to grab the window and wiggle it. I really have to pull it apart and see what is loose in there.
