idle issues/running lean

its a 97 f250 light duty with the 5.4 triton V8... started out as just a check engine light, pulled codes 0171, 0174 which means running lean on bank #1 and Bank #2, now its gotten so bad that it just about wont idle... tried cleaning MAF with electrical contact cleaner... diddent help... the truck belongs to my grandpa and i have absloutely no expirence working on trucks post 86.... and none working on fuel injection.... could it be injectors? MFA is bad? any help would be highly appreciated!

This comes up so often it's amazing.
Nine times out of ten it's the rubber 90% boot on the back of the intake, you might be able to improvise but in my opinion you're better off going to the local Ford dealer and buying the "6C324" tube assembly. Comes with PCV valve, both boots and the preformed nylon tube, cost about $30. While you"re there check the tube that runs from the vapor management valve on the firewall to the intake (green connector) gets crispy next to the EGR valve
Good luck.

all of that looks fine , on the surface at least, but i did see the sticky about a sensor.... working to get that out but somehow they have phillips screws in them instead of 8mm nuts.... working hard to get it out without stripping the screw out...... had to take all sorts of **** apart to get to the damn thing
