Passing gear question
I was talking to a guy the other day, we started talking racing and things. I told him I could hit my passing gear at a little over 60 mph, it will shift down and take off. He said it shouldn't be able to do this.

Its when your trans downshifts out of OD when you put your foot into it.

ahhh okay now i know what ya mean...i have that happen all the time.. people in utah have NO IDEA how to drive its very frustrating

What I am saying is. How fast can you be crusing, then step on it and it will down shift, instead of stay in overdrive. Like the old passing gear.

well if shifts into OD at 70..i would guess anything under 70 it would kick down...thats how all my old hot rods worked any ways....i havent tried that yet with my truck....never had to push it like that..

I know I can't be doing 70 MPH then step on it and it will down shift, but I have 4:10 gears. That might make a difference. Thats what I am trying to find out, how fast some can go and still hit passing gear. Thanks
