E4OD question

How many miles are ya'll getting out of your E4OD's, i'm looking at a Bronco w/ 120k miles on it. I'm not really too worried about the engine, but more the tranny and not being able to afford a rebuild a year or so down the road.

Post E4OD question

Look out! Unless it was rebuilt, you are at risk. If it has service records showing fluid changes every 30,000 miles you might be ok.

My E4OD went at 115,000. The trans shop tells me that they last 75,000 to 175,000. It cost me $1800, including everything (in a 4x4).

I agree- if it hasn't been rebuilt; it is about time for it to go out. Mine went at 125,000. I took it out and put it back in myself and it cost about $1300.

E4OD question

I have 163,000 mi. and mine's still going, but i recently put a converter in it. I would imagine a 95 or newer might last longer because they have all of the updates and such from the factory.
