06 4x4 eb value

Need some help form the experts. Have been looking for a later model expedition 4x4 to replace my 2wd supercrew. I have found one that seems pretty low. 06 eddie bauer 4x4 with 30k for $13k. I have a feeling I should be looking for some real issues (and what would they be). It is a friend of a friend, but still seems pretty low. I have not seen it yet but understand it is a base 4x4 EB (no sunroof, nav, rear dvd etc). Anything particular I should look for - I thought going rate for these was still around 18-20k. Any help appreciated. MikePs - I will be searching the forums as well - just hoping to get the "cliffs notes"

That sounds like a very reasonable deal. I have a 06 4X4 Navigator with 36k I bought new in March 2007 and I owe a little more than that with 2 years payments left.

You will find from your research the engines (5.4L) and transmissions are pretty bullet proof and many have upwards of 200k on the odo. So as long as it's been maintained well and you continue to take care of it with regular oil changes and such, it will run forever. If you're happy with the interior - sound, seats, features, etc then you should be happy for a long time.....if you can handle the 13mpg.

Spark plugs are one of the common trouble points. Research well before changing them yourself or know what you're getting into when taking it in for this service. EB line should have many desireable features. Another good user forum is www.f150online.com and follow the Expedition and other threads.

Good luck.

I bought a 2005 pearl white 4x4 limited with 82,000 miles back in September for $13.5k.
I bought it from an old couple about in their 60's. they had service records for every single thing they did to the truck and followed the maintenance list in the owners manual.
The truck does not have a single scratch and also had no kids.

So yes, that is a good deal. You should really look into that expy.

Thanks very much for the quick replies. The gas mileage would be a relief for me because my 03 supercrew gets 11 consistently (yes it is a 2wd) but I know that I don't baby it either. I love that truck but lifestyle changes are pushing me back to a large SUV. 4x4's are hard to come by in my immediate area and this seemed to good to be true. Definitely going to get the VIN and try and get an OASIS run. Was trying to find a later one with the 6sp tranny, but this price is hard to pass up (if all checks out okay). I drove an 05 Navi last weekend and liked it - but it was considerably more $$. the two things I regret not getting on my truck are the 4wd and a sunroof, may look into an aftermarket sunroof for this price. Thanks again, Mike.

the Navi have a six speed transmission. if mileage is a problem then the Navi is not for you, they use premium gas. which is stupid because they have the same horsepower as expy's.
