Hello and Thank you. I have an 06 EXedition EB 4x4 with stock rims and tires of 265/70/17 and Im wondering if I can put 255/75/17. I'm only looking at these tires because I can get 5 new tires for $300 from a friend. thanks.
Go to one of the on line tire sites, they normally have a conversion tool that lets you look at up sizing and down sizing options that won't effect anything.
I would say you will be fine. 265X70-17=31.8"X10.7"-17.
255X75-17=32.1"X10"-17
Going up .3" should be fine. If You can live with the skinny tire.
Myself, I, like the Skinny tire look, and performance. Even at that you will only be 1/2" skinnier.
For that price I would buy them!
Are they of the required weight rating's? You still want/need to be safe! If I'm not mistaken, and I could be, but you require atleast a load range C tire.
Excellent choice, I've never been disappointed with Michelins. They cost, but you get what you pay for. Costco has a twice yearly incentive on Michelins - spring and fall usually.
