you have to drop the tank, or remove the bed. to drop the tank, remove the rubber line that's inside the bed where you put your gas in. loosen the straps that hold in the tank [2] should be a 15mm deep socket. support the tank with a floor jack remove the straps, and slowly let the tank down. remove the 1/4" hose from the vent, don't break the vent. remove the wireing harness from the fuel pump. remove fuel lines, use the same tool kit for this you use to change your fuel filter. slide the tank out where you can work on it. take s screwdriver, and small hammer, and tap the lock ring open. clean top of tank off, super clean,pull fuel pump up. you have to twist and turn it as it goes up, to clear the gas guage sender. remove the rubber ring. clean top of tank, install new rubber ring, put new fuel pump in [twist and turn]. make sure tabs line up with slot. replace lock ring with new one that came with the pump put everything back together. one note, make sure you put the little hose back inside of the big hose for your gas fill, or you'll be hateing life everytime you put gas in that tank, it allows the air to come out while the gas is going in
