SuperDuty seats

Has anyone else found the seats in the SuperDuty's very disappointing?

We did some more test driving tonight and found the Lariat bench and captain chair seats to be very average at best. And actually, the back of the seat was practically unacceptable for both my wife and I. I'm 6'3" and my wife is 6'...and we both can lay our head completely back on top of the seat back.

I'm hoping things change for 2010; otherwise, I'd have to add the price of seats from third party to the price of the vehicle.

Bummed.....

The hose down vinyl bench in my 08 SD XL would make you think the Lariat bench was designed by an orthopedic surgeon. I agree all of them with the possible exception of the King Ranch hides leave a lot to be desired. Found a place in Indiana (think it is SurerDuty Central or sim) that has a nice selection of aftermarket seating and the pricing is reasonable. With seating, I would want to "test drive" it so I haven't yet bit the bullet although I need to b4 the weather here in Chicago gets hot enough for the vinyl to brand my A##. I'd hate to see you can the purchase of an otherwise awesome truck because the engineers at ford can't get the ergonomic thing together.

luverofpeanuts what are you driving now? I find the captain's chairs in my 2005 to be very comfortabe on long trips. I have a cloth interior, but I wouldn't think that would make a significant difference over leather.

My rear seat has headrests on each side and I don't find it uncomfortable either for long trips. If you were in a crew cab, you would have plenty of leg room in the back seat. I'm 6'3" and have plenty of room and find the rear seats comfortable.

I/we drive a '97 Expedition XLT w/cloth interior. Leg room is satisfactory in both front and rear...not significantly better. The SD passenger wheel well has quite a hump in the SuperDuty...annoying, but not a deal breaker.

The main deal breaker is the height of the front seat back. My wife works in the medical industry and is fanatical about head/neck support. For both of us the top of of the seat back barely touches the base of our head; it should make it to at least to the height of the ears.

The other poster mentioned an aftermarket place for seats. Thanks for that!
Super Duty Central

Those seats definitely look like they could be an option if we find a truck that matches our needs every other way.

No complaints about the buckets in our 01 Superduty. We just did 550 - 600 miles within 30 hours and I was comfortable the whole way.
