Hope someone here can help. Apologies for posting yet another thread on sway bar bushings, but my searches haven't been any help. I've got a 2001 2wd Crew Cab short bed diesel with bad sway bar bushings. Energy Suspension lists 4.5147 for the "light duty" 2wd 2001. I ordered them and they definitely don't fit. My sway bar looks to be 31.5mm. Would the 4.5186, which all the 4wd guys recommend, fit my truck? It's listed as 32mm. Hopefully someone with my model has done this swap. Thanks in advance for any help. - Brian
Just called Energy. Rep told me they don't make a kit specifically for the 2wd because parts change so often on 'em. I'm going to try the 4.5186, sway bar bushings first then end links. I'll post my results when I'm done.
4.5186 won't fit either. Sway bar bushing are about the right size to fit around the bar, but the bushing is too big for the u-bracket. The end link bushings won't fit at all. Just picked up rubber bushing from the dealer: $52 for the pair. Ouch. More than all the bushings combined from Energy. Wish energy made them for the 2wd. Here are some pics. I had to hammer the u-bracket back to its original size to remount the bar.
Well, looks like my end links are shot too. They'll cost another $70 or so. Might be able to find all the parts cheaper online. Here's the pics I mentioned above:
