Additives
Here is a question for all of you,are after market gasoline additives and fuel injector cleaners that you add pour in your gas tank any good or should I just use a name brand gas.

Depends on Gas or Diesel.. The motorcraft line of products works really good the Cetane Booster, and Anti-Gel additives work really well. Alot of happy cust. with that. As far as gasoline run higher octane once in a while, (Full tank of super), change your fuel filter every 30K miles you shouldn't need additives... I run reg. in my truck but every 3-4 fill-ups I run super and have no issues...

Something to keep in mind is higher octane fuels burn cooler. The thermal expansion is a part of what makes the piston go up and down. Running a cooler burning fuel allows you to advance the timing a little bit. I'm not sure how it effects the fuels stoich, but running octane boosters or high octane fuel without tuning, it's not going to do a whole lot for you.
With 93 octane and tuning, I do get slightly better mileage.

when i used to hang out on the bobistheoilguy site, the "chemists" said that Chevron Techron additive had a high amount of PEA's (poly ether amines) and that stuff works....i've used it in the past when i found the twofer sale at AAP
