OK, here I am again, with another problem I'm sure you guys can help out with. I've recently had some issues with my truck losing power and running really rough. The engine will not power up properly and may even stall, while sounding as though it's only running on 5 or 6. If I sit and idle it will usually NOT cut out and MAY restart but is really rough again. No idiot light, so I assume no code stored so I am not sure what to do. I am NO mechanic but my gut feeling is some sort of fuel problem, or fuel delivery problem. I have replaced the fuel filter and the first one was nasty, but this happened again recently and the fuel filter was still very clean. Is there a fuel filter on the pick-up in the tank? Is there a fuel system mod that would suit me, living in a hot, dirty environment where fuel acn be unreliable too. I'd like to have a nice system that would both filter and give me a water separator that both work well. What sort of recommendations do you guys have and do you th9ink this is the cause of my problem or should I be looking elsewhere too?
Thanks again for all the great info you guys put out on here.
There is a screen/filter on the pickup and a screen on the pump which can become clogged. You can take the fuel line loose before the pump and blow air back into the tank and see if that helps. If so, the you may as well drop and clean the tank.
Make sure you oil level is good and clean as well. Low oil can make these things do all sorts of things.
OK sounds like a good start. If I hafta drop the tank is there an in tank pump you would recommend, or do y'all stick with frame mounted pumps?
My oil, after a long wait, is good. I finally sent down two 5-gallon pails of Rotella, she's been thanking me ever since.
Cheers, David.

Kwik and a few others have gone to a Bosch in tank pump. There is also a Walbro pump that mounts in the stock location that a lot of guys like. GL392 or something I think.
Great, thanks for the info Chase. I'll search those specific names now and read up. 'preciate it.
David.

Thanks Dan, great write up and pics. I'm certain I don't have the time to get into fabbing anything though and can't really justify the effort while the stocker seems to be working fine. I think I'll stick with what I have and maybe order the Walbro as a backup. Thanks again to you Chase for the suggestions. I am at some point going to drop the tank and see what the consition of the inside is, as well as checking the screen and a possible clean out. I'll report back if anything unusual crops up.
Oh, btw, what is the Hutch mod?
