Bumper swap

I have a 2005 screw with the rectangular fog lights in the front bumper. I like the round fog lights in the 06's better. Would everything match up? I figure the bumper will since they are the same truck, but wasn't sure about the lamps (Wiring).

I'm not sure, but I think they would match up if if the 05 uses the same bulb for the fog light as the 06. The harness plugs right into the bulb.

I did a similar swap. Except I had a '05 XL bumper then put a '06 (w/fog openings) bumper on. All of my mounting points lined up nicely.

Though, it didn't last long against a sawed off concrete pylon I snagged at a friend's house. So i'm back to my '05 XL bumper.

i did the swap with my 05. put an 07 bumper on it. brackets are different and fog like brackets are different. also the bumper filler doesnt exactly line up like it supposed to. to do the swap theres more than just the bumper.

I did have to fab my own light brackets... since I had no lights there to begin with.

Okay. I have been checking some of the salvage yards close to me, but no luck yet.

The main thing I was concerned with was the plugs for the lights. I never thought about any filler panels. Glad you brought that up 04XLTRUNNER. Did you have any issues with that Trigger? Since yours is the same swap (05-06)

Oh yeah, you have to watch those pylons, they will sneak up on you

Try a body shop (even one that's attached to a Ford dealer) That's where I found the one I had. It just so happened a buddy of mine was working there and was able to secure it from a front clip that they had removed from another '06.

After thinking about it more, I did have to get a bit of help lining things up with my mounts. So I did use the bumper arms from the '06. I did not use my '05 mounts.
