Ok well I was at my buddies house saturday. He has a F-150 I think a 94 with the 460. This truck has like 220,000 or more miles on it. Its currently broke something with the rear axle or something. I dont remeber I had a few to drink. But he said when he gets it fixed he wants to do a truck tug of war against mine. He keeps saying his can beat mine. Im not going to do this cause I dont feel like breaking anything. Not like anything will but the way my luck is. Im just curious now which truck would win. His is all stock and mine is stock except for the programmer. And I got more aggresive tires
Edit: I thought he told me before that it was a 460 but my one buddy seems to think its a 351.
Is your buddy going to fix the rear end himself before the pull-off? Find out when he's going to work on it and and show up with a case of beer for him. Drink Beer. Tug-of-war the following day...you can't lose.
I dont know if he is going to fix it himself or not. I dont plan on doing the tug of war. Im not scared cause I think I can beat him. But I just wanted to see what you guys thought who would win. Didnt know how they compare to the 5.4
i'd say you got a much heavier truck and more power...how you go about it is the biggest thing, i agree with you though, keep it to verbal competitions. much easier on the parts
90's F-150 with 351 wieghs about 4,500 lbs with the reg cab long bed
04+ F-150 with 5.4 weighs 5,000 lbs + for your Scab
351 has about 240 HP
5.4 has 300 HP
90's has 3.55 gears if has towing package
your has 3.73 gears
90's might have a LS...but at that high mileage, doubt it works
yours has the LS
your truck sits higher in the rear...it's simple physics. You have more weight, more power, a better pull capacity...and lastly, the angle of the pull will be downward from your bumper. this will force your tires to have more grip on the rear axle
sorry, but your buddy is over-boasting
edit: please don't do it for real. Something is gonna break.
O dont worry Im not gonig to cause I have seen some truck tug o wars up by me they do it like 2 times a month for a thing called truck warz. I have seen some major breaks but they are on cement. If I knew nothing would break I would do it in a field. But like said im leaving it to a verbal contest. I was thinking more of a drag race or something. That shows true power
When I lived on South Padre all the college kids would go to the "drive on" beach and do truck pulls....
If I had a dime for every time a chain/rope broke and tailgates/back glasses were broken I would have paid off my truck in a couple months....not to mention the occasional U-Joint/drive shaft breakage due to bottoming out the axles in the sand...
