L&L Conversion Kit?
so i have been planning swapping my 400 for a 460 and have heard that L&L makes oil pans and headers for this swap. but what i didnt know is that they make an entire converion kit for this exact same thing with headers, oil pan, oil pump, brackets, etc. i was wondering if anyone has had any luck with this kit. it is kit 11B on their website. i thought it was pretty cool that they had an entire kit to make things easier, i love it but the only thing i would switch would go from a 7 qrt pan to a 10 qrt. so if any one has tried this kit or kits like it and could give me some feedback that would be great thanks.

I have not tried the entire kit, as I find it just as easy to install the motor mounts, and headers.
Be aware of large oil pans and header clearance. It is tight, and you can gain as much oil volume by running a larger oil cooler or even a remote mount filter set up. Heak run both.
If you run the crazy huge pan, you may have driveshaft clearance problems, and if you run inside the frame headers you will have exhaust clearance issues:

It is a good product line. I never did the full kit but I have used many of their pieces, and where I used to work we were an authorized supplier. I like the headers but I use the fenderwell kind, I used the pan and it works ok, I love the powersteering pump bracket. The motor mouts are not as tough as they could be and they will only replace them ONCE. I have two sets of broken ones in a drawer in my shop. With all that said it is a quick and easy way to do the conversion, and it will be very satisfactorily done. Good luck! Tom

I just installed the motor mounts on a 460. used to have the 351 tho. Oh and if anyone has any pics of the fenderwell exit headers please post I am looking to by some if i like the idea and can fork bout 500 buckaroos.

L&L makes some really nice headers. Spendy, but nice.
I've always used their mounts and headers. And never had a need to use any of their other products for a swap.
Buy good gaskets! Percy's Seal-4-Good Collector Gaskets and Dead Soft header gaskets. they are worth their weight in gold.
