Except the vehicle I will be mounting it on has a delco alternato and I have no room to mout a second alternator to use as a welder. I think I have figured out how to do it where I can switch it back and forth by running disconects on all the alternator cables, running a relay in line to the capacitor to disconect it and runing a switched wire to the brush holder to full field it, or if I dont want to get that fancy sticking a screw driver in the bypas port on the alternator. Another option I was considering is wiring up a way to use an external diode pack to use when welding so if i burn it up the alternator will still work.
This would be much simpler on an externaly regulated ford alternator but not sure if any would fit in the same spot.
I'm employed hopefully when the economy pics up they will start pay'n me with paper money.
That sucks that you guys are un employed These are truley hard times i don't know how you guys can make it on unemployment I can barely get by and i get 40 hours a week. I hope you find jobs soon.
Dang, come to Texas, if your willing to mexican work theres plenty of it, I've currently got two jobs (tractor supply and a rancher), and two more people want to hire me.
But to all those un-employed I do feel bad for ya, and even worse when I watch what the gov is trying to do, cuz as I've been learning in my macroeconomics class, what they are doing is actually prolonging the recession
I'll keep my Relgion, Guns, and Money, You keep the change!!!
George I've heard of on board welders, but never have seen one, I just use two batts hooked up in parrell with jumper cables to weld in desperate times.
