Divorced np205
Any help would be appreciated, I have a divorced np205 which was run without oil.'76 f250 auto/360 v8, anyway, I have a married 205 out of a manual '78 or '79 f250. Can I swap the guts of these boxes? I need to fix the divorced unit.

I should know this, but I looked through my database and can't find much on the 205. Try http://www.alaskaoffroad.com/tech_2.htm
I'm guess you can do that, but the input/output shafts may have to be retained form the damaged unit.
Chevy TH-350 NP-205 has 27 spline input
Chevy TH-400 NP-205 has 32 spline input
Chevy 1/2 and 3/4 Tons had 10 or 30 spline front outputs
Ford 205 has 31 spline input
Ford and Dodge 1 Tons had 32 spline front outputs
I'm betting the bearing sizes are the same. I know you can switch all the parts in a NP 435 tranny any way you want, so I guess so with the 205
