OK here it is..a 410 merc that I removed the c6 from did not have a plate in it, what is up? what dose it do, sepprate the block from trany?? do i need to put 1 in or not?? lost again

Yes, it should be in there with a C6, the earlier ones didn't use one, but the change was around '63- the torque converter spacing will be incorrect without it

Ya , If i rember right there was no plate with a cast iron cruosmatic.
