Glad I found this place. I just inherited my Grandpa's 1975 F150. It hasn't been run in awhile so I suspect I will be coming here regularly for advice.
1st issue: When I put it in gear and give it gas, nothing happens. Play around with the accelerator awhile, and it will lurch forward some distance, then roll to a stop. I think (hope?) it is the vacuum tube to the modulator, or the modulator itself. If it was the torque converter or the transmission itself, It shouldn't suddenly kick in, then kick back out (at least, that is what it feels like it is doing), right? Also, when it would most often kick in was when I would let off the accelerator after revving the engine pretty high, which I beleive is a high vacuum situation. Does my diagnosis seem right, or am I looking at some tranny problems. I am pretty green at this stuff, so I need all the help I can get.
