Clutch Noise?

Had this noise that comes on at about 1000 RPM's for the longest time. It sounds kinda like a exhaust leak but this morning as I was heading down the road I slowly pushed down on the clutch pedal to see if it made a diff and it did. All I had to do is push down about a inch just enough to take up some slack in the the clutch and the noise went away till I let up the clutch. It will do the same in neutral but the noise is not as loud to start with. Any one now what can be causing this? I am not sure where to start. Can it be the throwout bearing?

Yep, sounds like the throwout bearing.

I can hear my brand new TO bearing at an idle and with just a touch of pressure on th epedal it quits. If it is not real bad I wouldn't worry too much.

As long as it is just the TO bearing.

Do you have a DMF still? That may possibly be it too.

Not too worry about it. It has been doing it for a long time and its not getting worse but it is annoying. Is there any way to get some oil or grease on it without taking out the trans? Can I get to it if I take the fork out? Cant find any diagrams so I am not sure exactly how it is set up.

Before you go tearing out the transmission check the shifter boot and the white rubber seal under it. That is THE MOST COMMON cause of clutch and transmission noise complaints there is. If either the boot or seal is torn or the screws are loose or missing then you will think the clutch is going or there is an exhaust leak.
