The Cruise-O-Matic in my '66 F250 finally went **** up and I scored a C-6 of unknown condition. I'd like to go through and check the trans out, but auto trannies are like voodoo to me. Does anyone have either recommended literature or websites that might aid in this project? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Aaron
PS: I have been a Mopar man since I was old enough to drive, but since the purchase of my old Ford, I noticed that my '71 Satellite sits more and more. There is just something captivating about an old Ford pickup, and FTE is by far the best Ford site I've ran across!
I've heard ATSG manuals are good rebuilding guides for trannys, I have ordered one for myself and my E4OD. I think they might have some test procedures in them, but from what I've heard they have decent diagrams, and tell you how to take apart and put together. Some others may be able to tell you more about this specific book, I have not got mine in yet.
Good luck,
